WHY BECOME A BARTENDER?
EP10: Lazy Bartender By Drinksdirect.NG
Appreciating The Bartending Culture
Working in the world of hospitality can be lucrative, as some bartenders take home hefty six-figure salaries!
Signing up for the most profitable bartending shifts may cost you nights out with friends, It isn’t always glamorous and you never know when a customer will leave you a stingy tip. Like any other industry, you’ve got to hustle your way up the ladder, and even though there aren’t any technical requirements to become a Master of Booze, not everyone’s cut out for it. You’ve got to be able to think on your feet, be a self-starter and, most importantly, a team player.
Here are top five (5) reasons why you should become a Bartender
Bartending is a promising Market

This means bartending skills will always be in demand wherever there are people, hospitality and nightlife. And this automatically means there will never be a shortage of jobs for a skilled and confident bartender anywhere you go round the world. Hospitality is what moves the world. Do you see it?

With Experience, its possible to have your own business when you retire

You can also manage a company and assemble your own team of bartenders to attend events, explore the digital world, and also provide bar consultancy services and training, amongst others.
You are able to be a good host to friends and family
When you decide to be a professional bartender, you have also chosen to bring good vibes and happiness to your friends, family and loved ones. You initiate that through the art of cocktail making.

Ruby Red Spritz
EP 8: Lazy Bartender By Drinksdirect.NG
Sweet Red Ruby
This rosy, bittersweet aperitif will prime your appetite. If you want it sweeter, add a dash of simple syrup, or replace the fizzy soda water with a splash of grapefruit soda.
A mashup of Dry Gin and Campari, this gently bitter and refreshing combo would be a hit at any holiday brunch. If you can find organic grapefruit, these typically smaller fruits are more ideal for garnishing.

- Add Dry Gin, grapefruit juice, and Campari.
- Top with sparkling wine and add club soda if desired.
- Stir gently.
- Smack thyme between your palms, and add to the cocktail

White Cargo
Ep 5: Lazy Bartender By Drinksdirect.NG
Absolutely strange, yet weirdly compelling
The white Cargo is a sumptuous, decadent take on a cocktail. The drink is sweeter than sweet, yet with a weird, herbal undertone. It’s a cocktail that reminds us about our early ice cream-licking days before we hit the legal age to consume alcohol, way before the Instagram days. It’s totally unnecessary, yet here we are writing about it almost a century on from when it was first published in Judge Jr’s 1927 cocktail book ‘Here’s How.’
INGREDIENTS
- Nutmeg (optional)
DIRECTION
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with plenty of ice and shake until thoroughly mixed. Pour without a strainer.
- Dust some grated nutmeg to garnish.

National Beer Can Appreciation Day
Appreciating Artistry & Talent
Advanced thermodynamics and quantum physics tell us beer cans are more efficient to pick up. But history reminds us again today it wasn’t always that way from the inception of Beer drinking. If we don’t remember where we’re from, how will we know where we’re going?
National Beer Can Appreciation Day is here to remind you of the artistry and talent that goes into those simple aluminium cans that hold this precious elixir of life.
History of National Beer Can Appreciation Day
Beer has been one of the staples of health and diet for thousands of years, and there are those who say that access to Beer is one of the reasons that the slaves of Egypt were able to build those huge pyramids. The ability to preserve calories and not rot cannot be underestimated! While back then the beverage was held in clay vessels, the container of choice today is the aluminium can. This tradition was first started in 1935, and on the heels of it came a never-ending parade of varieties of labelling.
How to celebrate National Beer Can Appreciation Day
- Buy beer: Your appreciation starts simply with a visit to your best drinks store OnlineDrinksdirect.NG
- Marvel at those beautiful beer can containers: the shape, the contours, and all those numbers stamped on the bottom, a close look will tell you that labelling is serious business.
- Drink with friends: Enjoy the wonders of canned Beer with fellow friends who appreciates the artistry and talents that goes into making such magic.
